First and foremost, this woman makes both a poignant – and passionate point in this video short. The gratuitous violence used by masked thugs laughingly called “Law Enforcement” that see almost every day is absolutely an occasion for a hedge prayer of thorns. Any human being who can act with such violence should be prayed for – as in “Dear God, let your justice roll down like mighty waters… on top of these assholes heads! Do not allow such a mockery of everything we hold dear to happen without some recompense. Teach these uncival thugs what Paul meant about “As you sow, so shall you reap.”
But there’s also a need for hedge prayers of protection: For those who are bravely standing up for you and me – and our right to express ourselves without fear or retribution. God, protect these brave souls; keep them safe, keep them courageous as they speak truth to justice.
