Gracious and loving God; there are 42 million Americans that desperately need your hedge of protection – because unless our government has a massive change of heart, they will be hungry and without enough food to survive in six days. They are our friends and neighbors, in blue states and red states, north and south, east and west, who depend on federal SNAP benefits to have enough food to feed their families. And Lord, apparently those in power in Washington – who appear to not have ANY trouble having more than enough to eat – have decided that these Americans are pawns to be used in a political game of one-upmanship. Protect these families Lord; and perhaps, while doing that, make it possible for our President and others in the halls of power to miss a meal or two. Remind them of something they may well have forgotten – what it’s like to be hungry.

Amen! Our school is frantically trying to figure out how to pull off a food drive for our students and their families within the next two weeks !
