A Hedge Prayer for Public School Students, Teachers, and Staff

A hedge prayer of protection for students, teachers, and staff in America’s public schools – prompted by the following (click the image):

Dear merciful God:  It is impossible to count the number of people in America’s public schools who need your hedge of protection from the callous and irresponsible ideas and actions of groups like this.  These “mothers for liberty” would discard every single child for whom public schools are the ONLY way they will receive the education that they deserve.  Throw your hedge of protection around them, their teachers, school staff and everyone who still believes that public education, that includes diversity, inclusion and opportunities for all, is one of the shining achievements of our republic.  Protect them all Lord…

And defy, dissuade, deter these misguided women who apparently think their warped viewpoints are worthy of anyone!  Hedge them in also, God – with a solid wall of thorns that will keep them from harming the least of these who will suffer from their despicable nonsense.  Amen.
